Rabbits Away-Day

Glasson Golf and Country Club

Wed & Thu 2 & 3 July 2008

Unfortunately the weather wasn't great.  It was very wet on the first day but it dried up a bit on the second day - except for the last group who got caught out in a  downpour.  Personally, I just had a disaster on the first day and was asking myself "why do I do this?".   Liam was so sorry for me (and he didn't even see me playing!) that he gave me the "Needs a hug prize.  Fortunately I was a bit better on the Wednesday and have kept my clubs.  Terry Dunne got nearest the pin on the difficult par 3 across the water on day 1 (and sank the putt), but unfortunately this was not the hole selected for the prize.  He proceeded to win nearest the pin on the second day just to prove a point!.
On Wednesday night Gerry McGuinness introduced us to a version of poker with only two cards each.  Arthur Delahunt seemed to get the hang of it very quickly while keeping a confused look on his face to fool the rest of us.
The star of the outing was Hugh O'Brien, who brought in great scores both days despite the rain.
